Valobat’s Mission
Valobat, and its stakeholders, is establishing a comprehensive system for the collection, sorting, recycling and recovery of construction waste (PMCB), furniture (DEA) and DIY and gardening items (ABJ) in France, through a range of initiatives:
- Helping members with regulatory compliance and managing their the end-of-life waste
- Free-of-charge collection of all separated waste streams at our network of type-specific collection points
- Creating value through the development of reuse, recycling, and recovery channels for building waste
- Encouraging sustainable practices among everyone in the building sector
Building Regulations: You Are Required to Join a Producer Responsibility Organisation
You market products and materials:
- for the building industry
- and/or furniture, DIY, or gardening
Your company is required to join a Producer Responsibility Organisation.
A government-approved Producer Responsibility Oragnisation such as Valobat handles your regulatory requirements. In return, you pay a tax called ‘eco-contribution.’
Your PRO will set up the entire chain of collection, sorting, recycling and recovery of end-of-life products.
