Valobat is committed to boosting recycling rates for all products within every industry we serve as an accredited partner. Our goal is to increase circularity with new sorting and recycling techniques, industrialising waste flow, improving recycled material quality, and growing the market for it.
Presentation of the 2024 Call for Projects
Valobat launched its first call for projects in 2024 for the Building EPR scheme, providing funding to multitude of building and waste management stakeholders developing innovative solutions to in recovery and recycling, thus removing any technical, organisational, or economic barriers that were holding them back.
23 projects were selected, focusing on the central stages of the recycling chain, from collection to closed-loop or open-loop integration, and with cross-cutting topics like identifying recycling disruptors.

Every product category within the Building EPR scheme is a candidate for innovation, whether in the recovery of inert materials (tiles, bricks), improving wood grade sorting, dismantling glazed joinery, grinding waterproofing membranes, treating complex plastics, etc.

We examined all types of projects: Improvement of collection systems, on-site sorting, over-sorting & recovery of specific products, AI-driven improvement of quality or traceability, automated dismantling of complex products, better grinding methods, extraction of now-prohibited additives, etc.
